I just noticed that The Blue Diamond still has their disco ball on the ceiling. I'm a little surprised as most places have taken them down. The only other place that I know that still has one up is the Alberta Street Pub which actually still runs it during their music performances. The Blue Diamond has undergone at least a couple of major renovations since the disco days so I thought they would have taken it down during one of those renovations. I don't remember ever having seen them use their disco ball since I've been going there.
Barbara and I weren't sure what to expect this. It turned out to be a blues performance of songs with dirty words. They asked us to wait for the break to take out our mobile phones. They didn't want anyone recording the performance and posting it online. They've done these "That's Nastry" events previously but this is the first one that we've ever been to.
